This week’s photograph, which was taken about 100 years ago, shows Mt Pleasant neighbours, Frederick Gurney Henzell [1870-1953] and Emil Otto Rospigaroff [1888-1969] helping one another clear a property belonging to one of them.
Otto Rospigaroff’s father Adolf selected his first property at Mt Pleasant on 13th January 1879. Otto’s daughter Mary Rowley and her husband Pat still live on the family farm at Mt Pleasant.
Gurney Henzell purchased several properties at Mt Pleasant in 1905. Leigh Henzell, Gurney’s grandson, and members of his family still reside at Mt Pleasant.
