The Brisbane Courier of 12th April 1930 reported “QUEEN CROWNING CEREMONY Dayboro was en fete last night when the crowning ceremony of the successful Queen, Mrs. Salisbury, of Samson Vale, took place. The total collections prior to last night were £721. The other Queens were Mrs. Bourne, Dayboro; Mrs. Merker, Laceys Creek; Miss Jean French, Mt Pleasant. The committee responsible for the functions comprised Messrs. R.E. Stephens (chairman) and J.N. Maher (secretary). The ceremony last night was performed by Mr. R.J. Warren, M.L.A. The amounts collected by the various queens were:- Mrs. Salisbury, £260; Mrs. Bourne, £226; Miss Jean French, £131; Mrs. Merker, £103.”
The Queen Competitions were a major fundraiser for the Q.A.T.B. over the years.
