Kelly Bros. Store, Billiard Saloon & Blacksmith – McKenzie Street

In 1907 John Kelly established a bootmakers and bakery business in Terrors Creek.  In September 1925 it became Kelly Bros. Store and on 5th June 1928 Fred Kelly over the business.  On 23rd May 1949 the store was moved across the road to the corner of McKenzie Street & Delaney Road to premises where the Dayboro Times & Moreton Mail used to be printed.

Billiard Licence:  The Courier Mail of 27th September 1938 reported “…The Licensing Commission granted the following applications yesterday…New Billiard Licence – Main Street, Dayboro, James Percy Bell, one table…”  The billiard saloon is the middle building in this photograph, between Kelly Bros. Store and the blacksmith shop.  It was built in front of the house that is now 15 McKenzie Street.

There is a petrol bowser in front of the store.  Does anyone have any idea of what brand it is?
