Dayboro Church Ball
Before a fairy queen enthroned in a bower of ferns and flowers, 31 juvenile debutantes paraded in the Dayboro Public Hall last evening when a successful ball was held by the Ladies’ Guild of St. Aidan’s Church of England.
The fairy queen (Miss Marjorie Clark) was attended by a herald (Master Sydney Kelly) and there were four pages. The small debutantes had been trained by Mrs. B. Funnell who is president of the Ladies’ Guild, and Miss Eva Bullock. The Rev. C. Brook (Caboolture) was present.
A special debutante’s cake was made by Mrs. J. Townsend. Mr. J. Trevethan supervised the programme, and the Dayboro Jazz band supplied music.
Other office-bearers of the Ladies’ Guild comprise Mrs. S. Nethersole (treasurer), Miss M.V. Williams (secretary), Mesdames F.A. Kelly, G. Mackenzie, F.H. Long, N.G. Clark, W. Williams and Miss E. Bullock…
The sum of £23/10/ was taken at the door.
