Gramma’s House – 1993

Gramma’s House Day Care Centre was established in 1990 in a house on the Henzell farm at Mt. Pleasant. The Centre was dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Chris Henzell, who passed away on 21st December 1988. Her grandchildren and their friends in the district always referred to her home, which was built in 1924, as “Gramma’s House” and the Centre was established in that house. Lyn Henzell and Debbie Edmonds were the driving force behind Gramma’s House Day Care Centre.
The Centre later re-located to Edmonds Court, Dayboro to be more central. Many people will remember the Gramma’s House creative floats in the Dayboro Day Parades and also their displays in the pavilion at the annual Dayboro Show.
Even though the Centre had changed owners, Lyn and Debbie still maintained a fond interest in the Centre and at the Diamond Jubilee Dayboro Show in 2015, they set up a lovely photographic display celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Gramma’s House.
