Featured Business – Horse & Co

horse and co

From a very young age Noela Dickinson, proprietor of Horse & Co, had an affinity with horses and this is still very apparent today when seeing her interact with her own two beloved Standardbreds – Sox and Gypsy.  In youth, Noela regularly competed in show jumping and pony club events and during her working career as a Northern Territory Police Officer, she competed in the jumping at the World Police Equestrian Games in India.

So it was a natural progression for her to establish a one-stop shop selling all the requirements for horses in all disciplines – new and used saddlery, tack, boots, Akubras, clothing, supplements, feeds and most importantly sharing her knowledge from her own experience.  She has a passion for horse health and wellbeing above all else.

Horse & Co is one of the best stocked businesses I have ever seen.  New stock arrives weekly and you can even bring your horse down to the shop to try on the saddle you intend to purchase.  Holding a Second-hand Dealers Licence, Noela sells quality used saddles and tack as well as the new range and this allows her to offer a saddle that can suit everyone’s budget, age and rider experience.  Brands of saddles include Wintec, Bates, Stubben, Southern Cross, Barnsby Kieffer, Phillip Fontaine and Syd Hill, Tekna, Ord River, Status.

Just like humans, horses also need supplements.  Stock including toxin binders, magnesium, linseeds, turmeric, oil (including coconut and CEN), vitamin and mineral supplements, Equine Vit and Min, Equitec, KER, Konhke and Country Park Herbs, along with topical treatments, sprays and wound healers of both natural and traditional ranges can be purchased from Horse & Co.  The supplements have been sourced in Australian and around the World from quality nutritionists and herbalists as horse health is of paramount importance to the team at Horse & Co.

Whether a horse rider or not, everyone loves to look good in country clothing, hats and boots and with brands such Wrangler, RM Williams,

Cinch, Cruel Girl, Akubra, Palm Leaf, Ariat and Baxter, Blundstone available, one need go no further than Horse & Co to be outfitted in the best apparel ever.  Gift vouchers are also available.

Horse & Co’s priority is always to local customers.  As they have grown and word of mouth increased, the online and interstate trade has also expanded.  No matter where the custom comes from, the service always remains the same to everyone.

On occasions the business runs clinics on pasture management, body work and nutrition along with holding staff and customer trials and feedback surveys on the products they sell.  Information on the clinics can be sourced from their Facebook page or through an email notification.  If you wish to receive a notification on the next clinic, email or ring Horse & Co to ask to be included on this email list.  This will also enable you to be kept up to date on the latest specials and trials.

There is always something new happening at Horse & Co as their passion is to expand their knowledge partnering up with a variety of Farriers, Saddle Fitters, Barefoot Trimmers, Bodywork Experts, Behaviourists, Trainers, Nutritionists and Chiropractors so they can share this knowledge with the customer.

With an old-style country service, great products and happy to try to source an item you require if they do not have in stock, a visit to Horse & Co is a must for anyone.  Remember the shop is not just for horse enthusiasts; boots, hats and clothing is always popular with non-horsey visitors and locals.  I visit regularly and do not ride a horse, yet always find a new or old favourite product that is just what I need.
